I strive to be a bridge between science and society
My career began in the northern coast of Scotland, where I earned my BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Aberdeen. Curiosity called to me from across the Atlantic, where I led and successfully completed a multi-year endeavor to characterize the molecular underpinnings of developing cerebellar neurons. For my work, I was awarded a PhD in Interdisciplinary Biological Sciences from Northwestern University.
In parallel my scientific training, I cultivated a growing love for not just science, but the stories found within cutting-edge research. I pursued every opportunity I was offered, earning certificates in both Science Communication and Management from respective world-class institutions. My work within science communication has spanned a diverse range of formats, from popular science articles to audio productions and direct public communications.
My current interest lies in combining my scientific expertise with my journalistic training to communicate the discoveries made in the depths of scientific institutions to broad audiences.
